1940’s Native American Navajo Rug 28” X 53”
I traded for this rug in 1978 from a lady that waned to do some trading so we made a deal and I got the rug.
There is a stain on it and u will c in the pics that some little bit of the weaving has come lose. So of it was already done when I traded for it. Please check out the pics.
The colors are all Natural. Gray, Black, two colors of tan.
I am from New Mexico USA and my mother in law was a BIA agent for many many years, so I would go with her to there homes and do some buying and trading often for many years so that’s how I come about this rug and others.

Traders like JB Moore would be the first to introduce the art of the Navajo to collectors back east, but it was rugs (not silver) that first captured the imaginations of collectors and decorators. Following Moore's suit, other traders would begin to market Navajo weaving, even influencing many of the well-known styles. Today styles are not defined by regions, but perfected by dedicated weavers from all parts of the Navajo Nations. One of the most fascinating of these styles was the Yei’ rug. This weaving comes from the sand painting a medicine man would make during a seven day ceremony. Once the ceremony was done the sand painting would be destroyed.
Shipping
We ship every day Monday through Friday via USPS Priority Mail. Your order will ship within 48 hours Monday through Friday except holidays. Insurance is included on all orders.
Returns Policy
With every purchase we allow for a provisional 30 day inspection period. If for any reason you do not want to keep an item that you have purchased, simply return the item in original condition within 30 days of receipt. You will be refunded the purchase price. Return shipping not included.
We are extremely reasonable, but the inspection offer is provisional--exclusively at our option. This is a service that most companies would only offer to established account customers. Each of our pieces is unique and carefully photographed. If we feel that the returned piece is in any way damaged, or different than the piece that we originally sent, we will return the item to you and no refund will be offered or made.
