Presented today is this adorable Jemez Pueblo Story Teller, by
Virginia Lucero. It stands 3 inches tall, and
in this depiction there is a mother holding a child who holding a basket.
Virginia was born in 1964, and became a potter in 1978. A love for children is what attracted her to Storytellers, and her figures always have children in them. The clay she
uses comes from a traditional clay bed within the Jemez Pueblo, and she fires
her work outdoors, not in a commercial kiln.
