Vintage 1940s Santa Clara Pueblo Polychrome Redware Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers
Listing is for a lovely, old pair of Salt & Pepper (S&P) from the Santa Clara Pueblo in New Mexico.
This set was a found in the estate of a local collector here in New Mexico. Host of the estate sale believed them to be from the 1940s.
Research indicates these are from the Santa Clara Pueblo here in New Mexico
Pottery type is known as either Polychrome Redware of Redware with Polychrome Designs
Each measures about 3 inches tall and 2.25” diameter at the base.
Condition is commensurate with age and use as shown in photos
Note the irregular or slightly imperfect shape of the pour holes at the top as well as the fill holes on the bottom of each shaker
Shakers are unsigned as was common in the 1930s and ‘40s
Original stoppers / corks are missing
