Lively design on this native friendship vase. This was used as a votive candle holder but there is no wax residue as they had sand in the bottom of it. This vase features the art of Angea of Tohono, Four people gather in a circle, looks like they are dancing from the footwork. They are facing inward, simple little faces drawn inside. Signed on the bottom. Measures approximately just under 6" tall and 5" at widest part.
Colors may look slightly different than on your monitor. I tried to take photos in natural and indoor lighting situations.

Wow! i thought i had seen Storytellers from every pueblo and village that made them, and now here comes one from Taos! It is made from the very distinctive
mica
ware, for which Taos is well-known, and brings a perspective that is as unique as the clay it's made from. It depicts a reclining mother, with children sitting all around her, as though sitting a a dinner table. Most of them are holding what appear to be ducks. The mother holds a dance drum. What does it mean? Everyone is smiling, so it is obviously a happy occasion. One thing is for certain; Taos Storytellers are rarely seen, and this one would stand out in any collection.
Buy with complete confidence, for as you all know, if the buyer is unsatisfied for ANY reason, i will immediately return the full purchase price, along with return shipping. Story Tellers have always been popular, and in recent years, more pueblos are bringing their own unique interpretations to the genre.  Taos has always been a magical place, and now you can hold in your hands a little bit of that magic. Many thanks for your kind consideration, and congratulations in advance to the lucky buyer. As always, Best Regards, Rich
