RARE Dine’ (Navajo) Two Grey Hill Small Rug With Spirit Line. Pristine condition! Spirit lines are becoming more rare. Two GreyHill Native American rugs are higher in value because they use absolutely no dyes. The two sides have a slight difference that I’ve not seen. It is not faded! There is 32 weaves per inch another sign of a fine weaver. 19 1/2” x 20” The different colors come from the different colored sheep and the blending of the wools through a process called combing. The story goes that Spider Woman taught the Native Americans to leave a
spirit
line so
the weaver
spirit would not be caught in her weaving web. So this is not a mistake.
Note that picture shows 4 small brown triangle designs on top and bottom on one side but not other side. It is not faded it’s a process that I’ve not seen.
