Hand made Native American pottery mug or cup, 4" high and 3" across at the top.. The teapot comes from Red Earth Pottery, Mesa Verde Pottery, Cortez, Colorado. It is signed by the artisan, "Lopez, Nav(ajo) USA".
The mug is a deep red ochre, with a band of hand incised bas relief design of the spectacular towering buttes found in native Navajo lands. Most people will be familiar with "Monument Valley" Arizona. The sky behind the buttes and mesas is tinted in wonderful sunset colors. Above and below the scene are bands of hand incised geometric design.
The mug is in excellent condition, with mild crazing, as seen in the photos. We have only 1 mug left.

Irene And Ken White's pottery are so distinctive.   The shape, the feel, the texture, the patina, the artistry are so strong.
This 7.5" tall pot has been around for a little bit and show signs of it's travels.   There is scuffing around the largest part where it might have sat next to something else and picked up some wear.   There are also some painted spots that have chipped.   I've picture the most obvious, please look at the photos, there may be other minor chips.   But, it still shows well.
Signed on the bottom IW   Navajo, with her registered artist's number on a paper label.
